There would hardly be any woman in the world who would want to remarry her husband. But recently, a famous singer of Malaysia has surprised people by revealing about finding another wife for her husband and getting her married.
42-year-old Ezline Arifin, also known as Ezlin, rose to nationwide fame in 2003 with her avant-garde song Hi Hi Bye Bye and today has 173,000 followers on Instagram. Despite not releasing any new songs in the past two years, she remains active on Malaysian television shopping channels such as Suke Shop, and sells food products to her followers.
Recently, Azlin has publicly revealed the second marriage of her 47-year-old husband, Wan Mohammad Hafeezam, to a 26-year-old girl last year. She said that it was her idea. He said that he took this decision so that the second wife could stay with her husband and it would be easier for Azeline to focus on her career.
Azlin said- ‘I am a busy person, my work requires me to travel long distances, and I often get upset. I needed someone else to help me with the household chores. On March 31, Azelyn posted a photo of herself and her husband on Instagram and wrote: ‘We are still together, still going strong.’
Let us tell you that the national religion in Malaysia is Islam and it is legal to have more than one marriage. Here men can have maximum four wives. However, this practice is illegal for non-Muslims. Here, after the first marriage, every marriage has to meet the requirements set by Islamic Sharia law in different states and obtain special permission. More than 1,000 men reportedly apply for polygamy in Malaysia’s Sharia courts every year.
Aizlin said that to find the right girl, he participated in many matchmaking programs. Eventually, her husband found a new wife himself. Azelyn revealed that both she and her step-daughter spend a week at a time with her husband.
She said, we are women so we feel jealous, but for me if the husband can fulfill his responsibilities and give enough love and care, then women will have no objection in sharing him. Azlin also emphasized that polygamy is not for everyone. He said, if your wife cannot accept it, then do not do it because it will break your wife and children emotionally.
