According to a senior officer associated with the security of IGI Airport, among the 11 passengers arrested, three women and a foreign woman are also included. Arrest figures show that the maximum number of passengers arrested include 4 from Punjab, 3 from Delhi, 2 from Haryana and one from Uttar Pradesh. These include a woman of French origin.

According to the senior security officer of IGI Airport, the mistake or negligence due to which passengers have to face strict action like arrest is not checking their bags properly before leaving home for the airport. Due to not checking the bag properly, such prohibited items are often left in the bag, which becomes a cause of trouble for the passengers.

Told that the Arms Act was the reason for the 11 arrests made in the last seven days. In fact, during the security check at the airport, live cartridges were recovered from the hand bags or check-in bags of all these 11 passengers. During interrogation, none of these passengers could produce valid documents related to the cartridges. After which, these passengers were arrested under the provisions prescribed by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
